Decarbonisation Summer School 2025
Cooking show for efficient cement recipes with Vanessa Schindler and time travel for the ceramics industry with Michelle Antretter as daily show host from 2050: IREES GmbH at the Decarbonization Summer School
Last week, the Decarbonization Summer School organized by the Cluster Decarbonization of Industry (CDI) and the Lausitz Science Network took place at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg in Cottbus. The event brought together young talents from various fields.
💡 What made it special 💡: Technical approaches were combined with design thinking approaches and creative formats. The outcome:
💪 “Getting people motivated” is the key to decarbonization.
🥣 Vanessa Schindler’s group therefore developed a communication proposal for their partner Sonocrete – simply presented as a baking show to explain their concept of resource conservation in cement production.
📢 Michelle Antretter and her team developed a roadmap for a CO₂-neutral ceramics plant for their partner DLR Institute for Low-Carbon Industrial Processes and presented it in a visionary way as a news review from 2050
Cottbus and the Lusatia region were a particularly inspiring place for researching industrial decarbonization: “A place where transformation is in full swing!” said Vanessa Schindler.
In keeping with the motto of the news presentation: Let’s decarbonize together!
