Looking back on a successful ESCALATE project meeting!

Our ESCALATE consortium met for 1.5 days in beautiful Vienna, where we had the opportunity to review the progress made in the first year of the project, exchange ideas (e.g., on the current status of the implementation of the revised EU Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) into national law in EU member states), discuss (e.g., the potential of geothermal energy and the importance of involving citizens in planning), and coordinate the next steps in the project. In terms of content, we gained a comprehensive overview of all work packages and upcoming tasks. The agenda included the following items:

πŸ’‘ Internal feedback sessions on our ESCALATE training program, which is designed to support European municipalities in the creation of municipal heating and cooling plans. In addition to the comprehensive online training program, we are developing a corresponding template and guideline – sign up for our newsletter to stay up to date. (www.escalate-project.eu).

🀝Exchange with the LIFE Programme project Hashtag#PlanToAct on possible synergies
🌱 We received practical input during our visit to the large heat pump at the Simmering biomass and gas power plant
πŸ“£ Updates on communication and dissemination of project results to date – take a look at our website, where there is always something new to discover!

A big thank you to the team at e-think energy research for the excellent organization on site and to all project partners for the productive exchange! We look forward to taking the next steps together and advancing ESCALATE further!
