Climate protection networks – a successful model for transformation in research and practice

Climate protection is successful when stakeholders learn from each other, motivate each other, and act together—which is exactly what climate protection and energy efficiency networks do.
The annual conference of the Fraunhofer Society’s four 2025 climate protection networks focused on the exchange of ideas on transformation concepts, monitoring 2024, best practices, communication training, and statistical analyses of ISO 50001.
IREES contributed its many years of expertise on energy efficiency and climate protection networks and their success factors:
Our Senior Advisor Prof. Dr.-Ing. Eberhard Jochem, an expert on and pioneer of energy efficiency networks in Germany, opened the second day of the conference with a motivational keynote speech.
He explained why climate protection networks work – because they empower those responsible to implement climate protection in practice – and emphasized the responsibility of all those involved to protect people and nature. His central message: In order to achieve interim targets such as the Fraunhofer societies’ goal of a 55% reduction in emissions between 2019 and 2030, sufficient investment funds are needed now.
