A milestone in our GEFION research project is imminent – visit us and our project partners WoodenValley, Esslingen University of Applied Sciences, and OFFICE and NetSyno at the ground-breaking ceremony and the opening of “ReBuild”:

The two-storey timber system house will become an applied research platform and a place of applied learning at Göppingen University of Applied Sciences – not only an architectural highlight, but also a symbol of sustainable construction. “ReBuild” shows how we can design emission-free buildings of the future, from the idea to reality.

@IREES contributes to “ReBuild” with expertise in life cycle analysis:
✔️ Implementation of the holistic life cycle concept as early as the planning phase in the digital twin
✔️ Structured data collection of materials for further analyses, such as life cycle costs or deconstructability
✔️ Methodological issues for balancing greenhouse gas emissions
✔️ Analysis and selection of data sets on environmental impacts & evaluation of their data quality
✔️ Strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, e.g. through recycled materials
