Kick-off in Berlin: Advancing the German National Climate Initiative (NKI)
π Last week, together with the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN) and our project partners, we launched the scientific support and further development of the Nationale Klimaschutzinitiative (NKI), Germany’s National Climate Initiative.
The NKI is one of Germany’s most important funding programmes for climate action. It helps municipalities, companies, consumers, civil society organisations and educational institutions put climate action into practice. Providing scientific support for the further development of these instruments β and actively shaping them β is both an exciting and a responsible task.
IREES contributes its expertise particularly in the area of societal acceptance, as well as in buildings & heat, industry and cross-cutting technologies.
We look forward to working with ifeu β Institut fΓΌr Energie- und Umweltforschung Heidelberg gGmbH (coordination), Γko-Institut Consult, Prognos AG, Fraunhofer ISI, the Ecologic Institute and Stefan Klinski β and to four years of joint work on future-proof climate action funding.
