How can district heating providers, building owners, and tenants jointly unlock energy efficiency potential?

This is the question we are exploring in the project KomDat.

Last week, we met in Berlin for our project meeting at senercon GmbH / co2online gGmbH. The agenda included progress across all work packages, the tools we are developing within the project, as well as upcoming events and ideas for further formats.

We at IREES GmbH presented the current status of our Communication Concept. Its aim is to answer a very practical question: Who needs which information, from whom, and through which channel to turn data and insights into concrete action?

To this end, we are developing recommendations tailored to different target groups—for example, on adjusting Connected Load, optimizing supply and Return Temperatures, and Heating Behaviour. These recommendations are based, among other things, on interviews with district heating providers and discussions with tenants.

Because data becomes useful when stakeholders understand it and know what actions they can take. That is why we are considering the technical tools and communication between the different stakeholders together.

In the upcoming workshops, we will discuss our approaches with the target groups and test their practical applicability.
