With the Climate Protection Contracts funding programme, the BMWK plans to support German industrial companies in decarbonising their production and initiating the transformation of industry.

The aim is to launch the funding programme quickly. A preliminary procedure is to start as early as April. Participation is mandatory for later participation in the first bidding procedure.

IREES is working together with the project partners Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI, DIW econ GmbH, PIK – Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, Oeko-Institut e.V. and Prof. Klinski on the project “Scientific Further Development of Climate Protection Contracts for Industry”. The results flow into the development of climate protection contracts as a climate policy instrument. In this way, we indirectly support the implementation of emission reduction projects in industry.
