Welcome Heike!
IREES has a new Managing Director – we are delighted that Heike Brugger has been leading our team together with Jan Steinbach since the beginning of May. Here is our ⚡ Lightning interview with her:
❓ Hi Heike, great to have you on board! Please introduce yourself briefly.
💡 I’m Heike and I’ve been on board at IREES since May. I previously worked at the Fraunhofer ISI, where I headed up the Energy Policy business unit. I originally studied math, politics and physics and then did my doctorate in political science at the University of Konstanz on the implementation of the energy transition at local level.
Outside of work, I spend a lot of time out and about with my dog and, especially now in spring, I’m busy redesigning my garden in a nature-oriented way.
❓ What particularly attracted you to IREES?
💡 What particularly appealed to me about IREES was the variety of topics and the proximity to implementation. I was also attracted by the opportunity to work in a dynamic team and to be at the forefront of innovation, both thematically and in terms of working methods, thanks to fast decision-making processes and flat hierarchies.
❓ What are your tasks at IREES?
💡 I have joined IREES as an additional Managing Director. I will also be in charge of the Climate Neutral Industry business unit from July 1. There are a lot of exciting tasks in personnel and company management waiting for me.
💡 In the Climate Neutral Industry team, we are particularly concerned with the decarbonization of the industrial and commercial sector. Among other things, I will be leading the accompanying research on energy efficiency in industry and buildings (EE4InG2). I will also increasingly contribute my expertise in the areas of energy and resource efficiency in and through ICT infrastructures and artificial intelligence to IREES.
Welcome once again – we look forward to working with you, Heike!
