Welcome Jan!
⚡ Flash interview with our new colleague Jan Kellershohn, who joined our Sustainable Buildings and Energy Infrastructure team on May 1:
❓ Hi Jan, great to have you on board! Please introduce yourself briefly.
💡 Hi there, I have a Bachelor’s degree in Energy Informatics from the Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences in Bottrop. I then did my Master’s degree in Energy Economics and Computer Science at the Jülich branch of Aachen University of Applied Sciences. For my master’s thesis, I developed a software model to assess the bikeability of cities using open data. I continued to develop this model at the University of Applied Sciences until I moved to IREES in May.
❓ What particularly attracted you to IREES?
💡 IREES is very diverse and interdisciplinary, which gives me lots of opportunities for learning and personal development. The team is also a very pleasant size and the systemic, strategic orientation of many projects is very much in line with my way of working and thinking.
❓ Which department do you work in and what are your tasks?
💡 I work in the “Sustainable Buildings and Energy Infrastructures” department on projects to evaluate funding for new builds and to finance the heating transition. My focus so far has been on the further development of internal software tools. I also support the team with research work and the development of new data sources.
We are delighted that you are joining IREES and enriching our team!
PS: Are you curious? We offer opportunities for student traineeships, internships and bachelor’s/master’s theses in the field of energy transition. More information at: https://irees.de/karriere/
