Alexandra Decker studied environmental engineering in a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree program at RWTH Aachen University, where she furthered her Master’s degree in environmental process engineering. In addition to study visits to the Universidade do Porto and the Technion in Haifa, she also completed an internship at the Industrial Technology Research Institute in Taiwan. In her master’s degree, she focused on chemical processes and wrote her thesis at the Institute of Process Engineering in Aachen on the reduction of CO2 to basic chemicals using gas diffusion electrodes. In her master’s thesis, she investigated the wetting behavior within the electrode using experimental and simulative methods. Since August 2023, Alexandra has been working at IREES in the business unit Energy Policy and Energy Technologies.
