DIHK analysis of barriers to and implementation of energy efficiency measures
Study forming part of the ‘Mittelstandsinitiative Energiewende’ project (Energy Transition Initiative for SMEs)
Client
Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK)
Duration August 2014 – November 2014
Background
“In the summer of 2014 the DIHK carried out a survey to analyse barriers to and implementation of energy efficiency measures in companies. The aim of the survey was to identify the barriers companies face in implementing cost-effective energy efficiency measures and current priorities in these investments. The study looked at the extent to which the actions companies are taking in this area are related to structural features such as size, industry or energy intensity, as well as energy management measures, advice obtained from energy consultants and other supporting factors.
The results of the survey were also intended to contribute to achieving the goals of ‘optimising information and advice’ as part of the Mittelstandsinitiative Energiewende project being carried out by the partners BMWi, BMUB, DIHK and ZDH (MIE).”
