Accompaniment of an energy efficiency network – pilot phase, Tunisia

Client

German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) GmbH

Duration October 2021 – May 2023

Background

Faced with the global problems of sustainable energy supply and environmental preservation, Tunisia is making its contribution to reducing the consumption of fossil fuels, to increasing the percentage of renewable energies (RE) and to improving energy efficiency (EE). One element to reach this aim is to establish a pilot energy efficiency network for companies in Tunisia.

Objective

The aim of the project is to support Tunisian actors in setting up a first energy efficiency network for industrial companies and to familiarise them with the underlying methodology. The aim is to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions through energy efficiency measures and to increase the share of renewable energies.

Tasks of IREES

  • In the project, IREES imparts the EEN methodology within the framework of trainings and organises and conducts the network meetings in the one-year pilot phase.
