New project for municipal heat planning started in Innsbruck

The kick-off event for the KomunaleWärmeplanung (KWP) of the city of Innsbruck is the starting signal for the development of a heat transition strategy for the Tyrolean city in the mountains.

Together with our project partner e-think energy research, we will develop the municipal heat plan for Innsbruck on behalf of the city of Innsbruck and the local energy suppliers IKB – Innsbrucker Kommunalbetriebe AG, TIGAS – Erdgas Tirol GmbH and TIWAG-Tiroler Wasserkraft AG within the next 10 months. The plan contains short-, medium- and long-term measures as a decision-making basis for decarbonizing the heat supply and achieving climate neutrality. In doing so, our team of engineers, modelers, communication and social scientists always follows a holistic strategy to advance a fast implementation of the action plans. In addition to using our GIS-based heat consumption atlas and applying our building and heat infrastructure simulation model #NetHeat and #Invert, this is achieved by involving local stakeholders and developing long-term implementation monitoring.

Thanks to the City of Innsbruck, IKB – Innsbrucker Kommunalbetriebe AG, TIGAS – Erdgas Tirol GmbH, TIWAG-Tiroler Wasserkraft AG,e-think energy research for the productive kick-off event!

We are looking forward to an intensive cooperation in the next months!
