Kick-off meeting of the “Climate management and greenhouse gas neutrality in companies” project in Berlin

With a 24% share of total greenhouse gas emissions, industrial companies play a decisive role in the transformation of the economic system and in achieving climate protection targets. Many companies have already introduced strategies and measures to reduce greenhouse gases.

But how can the legal requirements for recording and accounting for greenhouse gases in the context of sustainability reporting or within the framework of the EU ETS be fulfilled as fully as possible? What exactly are the differences in the range of regulations and how can companies be supported in the jungle of directives, standards and regulations? This is exactly what the project “Climate management in companies” is looking into on behalf of the German Federal Environment Agency. Jana Deurer and Vanessa Schindler visited Berlin for the kick-off of the project together with colleagues from GUTcert (David Kroll, Nicole Wäschke) and FfE (Sofia Haas, Anna Gruber).
