Antonia Kranz

Antonia Kranz completed her two-subject Bachelor’s degree in Politics & Society and History at the University of Bonn. She wrote her Bachelor’s thesis on European energy policy with a special focus on geopolitical diversification strategies. Subsequently, she deepened her academic education in the Master’s program in Political Science at the same university. As part of her Master’s thesis, she analyzed scientific collaboration between Germany and Sweden using qualitative and quantitative social science methods.

Alongside her studies, she gained practical experience, including at the Regional Representation of the European Commission in Bonn, at the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA), at the Center for Advanced Strategic and Integration Studies (CASSIS) Bonn and at KfW Development Bank.

Since May 2025, Antonia Kranz has been working at IREES as a research assistant in the business unit “Social Science Research on the Energy Transition”.

RESEARCH AND WORK FOCUS

  • Accompanying social science research on the energy transition with a focus on heat and hydrogen technologies

  • Application of qualitative and quantitative methods of empirical social research

  • Investigation of acceptance and user perspectives on energy technologies and infrastructures

  • Communication and knowledge transfer between research, practice and the public

  • Evaluation and impact analysis of energy policy instruments and funding programs (e.g. in the area of sustainable construction)
