Towards achieving a climate-neutral building stock in 2050

This study shows which developments are necessary to achieve a climate-neutral building stock by 2050. For this purpose, a trend scenario is developed taking into account the current legal and funding framework as well as a target-compatible scenario (target scenario) under the premise of an overall system optimisation of all sectors. Assuming a more stringent climate target, the target scenario reduces energy-related CO2 emissions by 65% by 2030 and by 100% by 2050 compared to 1990.
