Nico Ulmer works at IREES GmbH as a project manager in the social science evaluation of energy projects. During his bachelor’s degree in Energy and Resource Management (B.A.), he completed a practical semester at the Environmental Management Department at the City of Cape Town in Cape Town, South Africa. In his master’s degree he specialized in renewable energy management (M.Sc). His master’s thesis dealt with the opportunities and barriers of renewable energies for developing countries.
As part of his dissertation ‚ Sustainability in African educational institutions‘, Mr. Ulmer lived at the NM AIST University in Arusha, Tanzania. While abroad he was working as a consultant considering water purification and electricity in East Africa. From 2019 to 2020 he was employed as a scientific employee at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, specifically in the Research and Transfer Center for Sustainability and Climate Change Management, and gained experience in various sustainability-related projects. He speaks German, English and Swahili.
